According to the agreement signed between the Ministry of Culture and the Chapter of the Basilica of Santa Maria ad Martyres-Pantheon, the entrance ticket to the Pantheon complex will be required to enter since July 2023.
The established entrance fee will not exceed € 5.00, when the collected entrance fee will be divided into 70% for the benefit of the Ministry of Culture and 30% for the benefit of the Diocese of Rome. Visitors aged 0-18, protected categories and teachers leading school group will have free admission. Young people under 25 will pay a reduced entrance fee of € 2.00, according to the ministerial reduction set by the previous minister. Entrance to religious services will be free.
The Ministry will use the collected money to carry out ordinary and extraordinary maintenance of the monument, as well as its cleaning. The Diocese of Rome disposes of funds for charitable and cultural activities, for the maintenance, conservation and further development and restoration of state-owned churches. The city of Rome and the ministry are still working on mutual agreements for the residents of the city of Rome.
Update: An agreement between the Ministry of Culture and the City of Rome ensures a free ticket to enter the Basilica for all residents of Rome.
